My Opa & Oma

The much anticipated visits are now over. Boy, after all that company it's kinda lonely over here in Florida. However, I can't close this chapter without saying something about Oma & Opa. I was so happy when I heard that they were going to be able to visit this year. They came to see us last year about this time, and I still flip through those photos just to remember how much fun we had. This visit did not dissapoint!! Although it was a little bit more relaxing than last time, we still had a great time just being together. Both David and I were glad to be able to spend time with them but most of all, I was glad that they could spend time with Isabelle. Isabelle is Oma & Opa's great-grandbaby. It makes me so proud when I show off my amazing husband and my adorable baby daughter and I love being able to host them in my house and take care of them a little since they have always taken care of me. Here are some pictures that we took the morning that they left.
With David
With Joy
Isabelle was still sleeping when they left but here is one of my favorite pictures from when I visited San Antonio in August.
Thank you Oma & Opa for such a wonderful visit. Thank you for making it possible for me to see the boys. Thank you for everything that you have done for me in my life. It has not gone unnoticed. We love you!! Love, David, Joy & Baby Bella

My Little Brothers

Wow!! We have had so much fun together the past couple of days!! I am so glad that Dominick, Stephen and Peter came to visit us. I really love them.
The boys and I spent the entire day today having fun!! After sleeping in this morning, we ate some delicious bagels for breakfast fresh from the bagel store. Yum!! After breakfast, we packed up the baby and went bowling on base. It was so much fun!! I bragged about my skill the whole way there only to be sorely beaten. Those boys have some talent!! We took such great pictures that I had trouble deciding which ones to post!! After much consideration, here are my final picks.
Dominick going for a strike. Look at that form!!
Peter celebrating that he actually hit a pin!! Just kidding, he placed second!! (with bumpers)
Stephen posing with his ball. Stephen placed first!! (with bumpers)
After we finished bowling, we made a trip to the commissary and then headed home. After a short recuperation, we decided that we would go fishing on the pier. It was pretty cold when we left (about 50 degrees) so we bundled up and bravely headed out to catch our fish.
Here is Dominick teaching the boys how to bait a hook
One hour and no fish later, here are my cold little fishermen
Like I said, everyone was bundled up, even our Isabelle
Isabelle had so many layers on that she could barely move!!
And later...we were all very tired, especially Isabelle
Until next time, we love y'all!!

Our Weekend

Before I begin, I would like to apologize to everyone who is wondering where I've gone. I am still here and, after a long weekend, I am exhausted but happy. Although we are tired, David and I have had a good weekend. My Aunt Irene and Uncle Heath came for a visit along with my four cousins. Although we drove to South Carolina to see them last Thanksgiving, they had not yet come to Mexico Beach to visit us. Oma & Opa had dropped off Dominick, Stephen and Peter with Aunt Irene while on a road trip and were planning to come back around to Florida to pick them up. Aunt Irene graciously drove down here to drop them off. I don't think I have to explain why we couldn't take a nine hour trip with Isabelly Isabelly. She sure is a handfull!! Enough said.
Aunt Irene and family came on Saturday evening and stayed until Monday morning. Here are some pictures to prove how much fun we had!!

Aunt Irene and Gracie enjoying beach time with Isabelle
Here are the boys playing an exciting game of football together. Even Uncle Heath played!!
Getting ready to BBQ on the beach!! Yum!!
Sierra, Gracie and Aunt Irene gathering shells on the beach. Sierra filled up that whole bucket!!
Family Photo. Aren't they all so cute!!
The boys are still here spending some time with us until they get picked up by Oma and Opa. We are having lots of fun hanging out and I have taken lots of cool pictures. I will post some of those tomorrow.

And, since I can't end this post without a picture of Isabelle...
Love y'all!!

Bronchitis

Our Isabelly Isabelly is sick.

Her bronchitis along with her teething pain is making her very irritable.

We have to give her Amoxicillin for her bronchitis and Tylenol for both her fever and her teeth. She HATES taking medicine, as illustrated below...

Bronchitis, huh. It all started on Monday. Monday was a bad day for Isabelle; she was grumpy and tired and I could tell that something wasn't right. Monday evening when David got home from work we went on a walk to the beach and she still wasn't happy. That was when we really knew something was wrong because that is normally her favorite part of the day. She LOVES to walk and she loves the beach so walks to the beach are a blast. I had noticed in the beginning of the day that she had a slight fever and by evening time it was high enough to raise alarm. Monday night she didn't sleep much at all and on Tuesday morning she still had her high fever. I called the doctor and he was concerned so we went in to the clinic only to find that our baby girl had bronchitis.
Tuesday & Wednesday were intense. That girl was so sick!! It was very sad.

Today is Thursday and, thank God, Isabelle is feeling significantly better!! I didn't have to give her Tylenol at all today because the fever hasn't come back since yesterday. We are looking forward to her follow-up appointment tomorrow. She is normally such a happy, active baby so it is so hard to see her sick.
In closing, I am posting a picture of her being her old self again, showing daddy that she can drink out of a cup without his help. Love y'all!!

Our Story...

Here I am, finally beginning a blog. Why? Well, let me tell you about it…
My name is Joy Elizondo and I am married to the love of my life, David. David and I have been together since high school and have known from the moment we laid eyes on each other that we were meant to be.

We were married in San Antonio, Texas on May 19th, 2007. What a day!! A day we thought was the happiest day of our lives...

That is until our daughter was born. Isabelle Joy Elizondo was born on March 17th, 2008 in Panama City, Florida. We are without a doubt the proudest parents around!! That being said, there has never been a cuter baby, or a smarter one!! She is our little blessing from heaven and we love her so much.

David was commissioned in the United States Air Force on September 21st, 2007. We are currently stationed in Panama City, Florida but will be moving to Warner Robins, Georgia by the beginning of next year. David is currently training to be an Air Battle Manager. He definitely loves what he does and we are both very happy.

Because we are apart from our family, I hear weekly requests for pictures as our little Isabelle continues to grow bigger every day. I thought long and hard about how to remedy this problem and went through a couple of unsuccessful ideas through trial and error. Thankfully, God intervened and I became friends with some amazing people here in Florida who suggested that I start blogging in order to stay in touch with both my family and my friends.

Well, here I am. What a great idea!!
